BILLIE

👯 👯 👯 👯

Billie co-founder Georgina Cooley disrupted a male dominated industry by tapping into a sensitive issue. The word shaving always referred to a man’s daily routine, even though it’s a situation that women are forced to deal with everyday. Shaving your upper lip, shaving your armpits, legs and sometimes if necessary, the lady garden. Why did men dominate this skincare category when it’s women who have to shave their entire body? Billie is a subscription shaving kit for women. Starting at $9 a month, the subscription comes with two 5 blade razor cartridges and Billie ships you new blades when needed. Billie definitely puts women first, they donate 1% of every order to different women charities each month. Read our review on Billie.

LADY FALCON COFFEE CLUB

🚲 🚲 🚲 🚲

In San Francisco during the 1880’s locals nicknamed Judah Street by Ocean Beach, “Carville-by-the-Sea” a cheeky nod to the bevy of abandoned cars that took residence along the streets. One of those was The Falcon Ladies Bicycling Club, a gang of independent women who although weren’t allowed to vote, their mode of transportation allowed them the freedom to roam. Founder Buffy Maguire pays entrepreneurial and cultural homage to those ladies with Lady Falcon Coffee Club. While real estate in the Bay Area continues to sky rocket to the high heavens, Maguire sees it fit to keep it simple and if anything, more original. Her mobile storefront is a 1948 GMC, totally equipped and decked out to portray the original Falcon Ladies bohemian spirit matched with quality roasted coffee.
