Little Women: Cecilie Bahnsen FW19

Cecilie Bahnsen is becoming the darling of Scandinavian fashion brands. The rising designer who was formerly an LVMH Prize 2017 finalist and had design stints at Erdem and John Galliano, her signature aesthetic is volume. Also being known for quilted patterns and very feminine details. However, for Fall/Winter 2019 season Bahnsen dipped her toes into the dark side, sort of. As told to Vogue, “she wanted the collection to feel somewhat more mysterious, like a David Lynch film or a photograph taken by William Eggleston.”

I can almost see that vision. Yet on another scope, wouldn’t it be great if Greta Gerwig (currently writing a new screen adaptation of Little Women) to pull a few looks from this collection? How fitting is the black quilted coat for Jo and can totally see Amy in a voluminous floral print dress.
