Chanel on a Hot Tin Roof SS20
Virginie Viard’s debut collection offered up the essential Chanel woman. From its iconic tweeds, billowing silhouettes and mini skirts, Viard took the catwalk up to a roof setting at the Grand Palais. The collection is in reminiscence of the women in 1950’s / 1960’s French Wave Cinema, these are the girls of Chanel. The show had some extra entertainment value when a French YouTuber crashed the runway. Yet, wouldn’t it be delightful of a thought that the late Karl Lagerfeld had ostensibly pre-planned the prank, or if anything he would have chuckled at the whole bit.
