Line to Watch: Martiniano

MARTINIANO is designed by Martinano Lopez Crozet from Buenos Aires, Argentina. He moved to California to study art and was part of an art performance duo, Los Super Elegantes who took part in the 2004 Whitney Biennial and the 2008 Sao Paolo Biennial. In 2011, Crozet returned to his home country and studied the craft of shoemaking. In February 2012 he launched Martiniano and is now the father of the brand's signature "glove shoes".

GLOVE SHOE IN WISTERIA / NEED SUPPLY

Crozet named the "glove shoe" for the kid leather used to make the upper part of the shoe, the material is actually used for gloves. The overall aesthetic and feel of the hugging shape to the foot as it fits like a glove. With minimalistic pleasure, it's no surprise that the designs have received the approval by Rei Kawakubo herself as the brand is now part of the new guard of designers available at Dover Street Market New York.
