I Need Streetwear With My Fashion

The fashion world just keeps changing, evolving and mingling. A recent high profile collaboration between Louis Vuitton and streetwear cult label Supreme had all folds of the industry talking. The design marriage of the two brands was the equivalent of Michael Jordan and Tom Brady pro-creating into a manifestation of great equals. At least some would say.

But the combination of streetwear and fashion is nothing new. We've seen girls wearing a men's size Champion sweatshirt over a pleated metallic skirt and sneakers on street style websites for the last few fashion week seasons. The cult phenomenon of Supreme is only going to get bigger. It's an ideal relationship when a huge subculture bonds with high fashion. It's not always easy, but now we know that it's doable. With a continuing rise of athleisure, girls don't want to be matchy matchy or wear anything that's expected of them. Style these days is very personal and it's totally okay if not preferable to just throw things on. My boyfriend's Supreme hoodie is somehow always more comfortable than anything in my closet. And I look really cool.
