Currently hiring a Creative & Graphic Design Lead where you will play a defining role in Parade’s growth as a company seeking to take market share in the 35% of the women’s underwear market that’s up for grabs. Looking for a strong design leader to build a cross-platform strategy around Creative Basics--skin-contact clothes that spark self-expression--through dynamic style-forward design, bold color, and sustainable fabric innovation. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will guide the look, feel, and evolution of Parade’s industry-shattering graphic design world.
REQUIREMENTS
5+ years of creative work and graphic design experience
Incredibly creative person who gets consumer brands at a fundamental level and understands their latent cultural significance and far-reaching power
Strong desire to bring a creative energy to team building
Obsessed with design, maximalism, and using distinct visual components to create a first-in-class brand
RESPONSIBILITIES
Overall Focus: Refine the definition of the Parade brand ethos, balancing the aspirational and relatable characteristics of the brand, and helping us understand how this trickles down into every brand touchpoint.
Creative Strategy: You will work directly with the key creatives at the company-- the CEO and the Head of Product Design, to lead, elevate, and inspire the brand world of Parade. You will be an owner of the visual aspect of this brand world--you will create and own graphic design direction and visual direction. To this end, you will help the founders as guardians of the new brand book (to be modified, edited, and renewed for 2021), a key document that will help align both Parade Team members and investors and external stakeholders.
Storytelling & Copy: Parade is a new type of e-commerce company that doesn’t believe in copy as a precious medium, but instead as a tool that supports our overall visual storytelling. You will be responsible for helping establish core storytelling threads for each quarter and collection, working with the rest of the team to closely understand the focus for product/brand storytelling and creating a copy strategy around it. You will not be the executor of copy on email, social, etc--but you will help suggest direction.
Lead Campaign Identity: You’ll work with the CEO, Head of Brand Marketing, and Head of Product Design to help create a fully fleshed out identity for product drops, which have become the lifeblood & energy of the Parade world. You’ll take the color palette, design intention, and inspiration to create options for graphic design & look and feel. While Head of Brand Marketing will still own execution of art direction, you’ll help with visual research and steer direction of Parade’s cutting-edge visual language.
Lead Innovative Product Marketing: Sit cross-functionally to the Head of Product Design to help give a visual identity to new fabric platforms through logos, icons, suggestions of art direction, with an eye for differentiation. You’ll work to establish this identity across email, collateral, ads, and more.
Unboxing & Packaging: Work to establish a system of packaging that’s both evergreen and reactive to new campaigns and the worlds they create. You’ll work directly with Head of Production to create packaging and ensure that packaging meets our standards of quality and is pushing the boundaries of expression and sustainability.
Email System- You’ll help finalize a brand system for emails that feels in line with aspirations for Parade, while the Junior Designer will own the day to day creation of email, you will give feedback & help push the bounds of what we’re doing on that channel. while constantly researching & giving inspiration to the Junior Designer, who will ultimately be responsible for email.
Graphic Design For Product- You’ll work with the Head of Product Design to create innovative & beautiful graphics and prints for the various collections, with an eye towards furthering the graphic expression of Parade and bringing everyday fun to the product line.
