That one lyrical line “I’m in the corner watching you kiss her” has been the anthem of so many broken hearts and bff dance parties. It’s wonderful that Robyn’s “Dancing On My Own” continues to present itself into pop culture. In the upcoming filmTeen Spirit starring Elle Fanning who plays Violet, a shy, small town teenager with big city ambitions to make it as a pop singer. With the help of an unlikely mentor, she enters a singing competition and the film plays out as a modern day Cinderella story. So far Teen Spirit seems to have a very cool soundtrack, Gia Coppola directed the video for “Dancing On My Own” performed by Elle Fanning. The film’s release date is April 2019. (Scroll for trailer)
