Good Golly Miss Molly
British designer Molly Goddard is one of the many young, emerging fashion talents from Central St. Martins. She received her BA in Fashion Knit and specializes in traditional design techniques such as hand-pleating, crocheting and smocking. It's impossible not to feel a twinge of nostalgia with her designs in bubblegum pink tutus and powder colored frocks. Highly inspired by girlish party dresses, Goddard taps into a coming of age awkwardness that only reflects the charm of her collections.
The SS15 collection marked her debut into London Fashion Week with a non-traditional, DIY approach to a presentation at a church hall surrounded by models that were in fact her friends crooning out cheesy karaoke songs. It is with this strength of creativity that has people drawn in by the likes of Susie Bubble, Rihanna, Alexa Chung and Agyeness Deyn who recently wore a custom Goddard bridal dress for her Brooklyn wedding. Molly Goddard represents the pretty raver girl, the art-school dropout and other playful characters.
