5 Good TikToks: Pretty Apartment Aesthetic
Cue a moody Chet Baker or Francoise Hardy playlist, because these following TikTok mini vlogs will inspire you to redecorate. So much of the #apartmentaesthetic feed are these pastel, book smart, candle-lust apartments that I sometimes find myself watching over and over to grab every slight detail. Where’s that candle from? Gah, look at that rug, look at that linen duvet in powder blue, and it suddenly dawns on me that I’m actually window shopping.
Visual representations of a home space offers a very intimate look into where a person not only lives and sleeps, but where she gets creative ideas, works her day job(s), Netflix and eats. At least that’s the idea that we are supposed to derive from these 60 second to 3 minute (if we’re lucky) videos. And yes, by now it’s a given rule that we should take all social media with a grain of reality salt, but I love these apartment aesthetic content, for they somehow soothe my worried mind. That’s really what good design and interiors are supposed to do, right?
