Sunday Aesthetics: Drink Lots of Liquids

The Sunday aesthetic requires little to no effort. After all that is what Sundays are meant for, a slow morning, a calm afternoon and indulging in your favorite leftover show binge accompanied by a nourishing meal - delivered, although preferably home cooked.

Sunday morning hits different, because this is your day to do things your way. As you wake up at around 10am-ish, you immediately anticipate walking to a favorite coffee spot that you of course are a regular, the cashier girl even knows you by name.

There is also a sentimentality to making your first cup of coffee at home, that’s why you splurged on the fancy French Press maker. Your choice of coffee these days is Chamberlain Coffee in support of women-owned businesses and the artists that the brand supports.

Since you brunched on Saturday, the breakfast is simple and light enough to get you through the day. A baguette and croissants from the neighborhood bakery paired with a nice jam and assorted berries on the side.

Splendor on a Sunday afternoon involves a few quick errands that Saturday couldn’t be bothered with and if done right, there’s time for light reading. You’re finally going to read that Haruki Murakami classic that your bestfriend gave on your birthday. Or you may as well get into that Gabrielle Zevin book Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow that all the TikTok girls won’t shut up about. Sometimes a pot of tea is your jam, but on this Sunday, it’s all about matcha. Your body is yearning for some antioxidants today.

And just like that the afternoon dims into a peaceful, charming evening. You’ve decided to cook something hearty, but pretty enough if you were to post it on Instagram. This pasta recipe calls for your favorite vino, the Gia Red Blend by Gia Coppola, which also looks very pretty on the ‘gram.

After dinner is when you really relax. You fold some laundry while devouring an old episode of Girls and finish off glass number two of red wine. The hours dwindle on this night-before-Monday and while you mentally pat yourself for replying to only three work emails, followed by fifteen minutes of TikTok (okay it was a mere thirty minutes, because you love dogs and true crime), you take two Olly melatonin gummies (at this point you’re in love with this flavorful taste) and read 5 more pages of Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow.

Tomorrow is another day. This is a perfect Sunday.
