Mini-Vacay Inspired Outfits
by Azucena Melchor
There’s no denying that a lot of us are having a hard time right now, and sometimes we all need an escape from whatever’s going on in our lives — luckily, fashion provides a perfect distraction!
I think we’ve all put on our best look for a trip to the grocery store at least a few times in the past months, and it makes sense. Sometimes getting out of our sweatpants and trying out pieces that have been waiting to see the sunlight is a necessary anchor in a quickly changing world. Nothing lifts spirits like stepping out in an outfit you feel ultra confident in, even if it’s just for a walk or to run errands.
Now that many of us are settled into a routine and eager for a change, it’s time to level up our dress-up game:
Next time you feel like putting together an outfit, try giving yourself a mini-vacation with a look that takes you elsewhere. This could mean decadent fabrics and maximalist silhouettes, tropical prints, fun jewelry, or whatever makes you feel the best. Below: a few suggestions for your next trip.
Run into a field of wildflowers with one (or more) of these adorable, colorful resin rings from pandemic-founded small business Chews, based in London.
Live a life of luxury in the playful Bellina Mini Dress from Serpenti Apparel.
Picnic in the countryside with British fashion brand Shrimps’ gingham Charles Bag.
