Review: Odacité Skincare

Written by Alexa Wilson

Odacité is a skincare brand after my own heart. It seamlessly combines some of my favorite things--crystals, women owned businesses, and skincare. Motivated by her own battle with breast cancer, Odacité’s founder, Valerie Grandury, set out to cleanse all facets of her life--physical and spiritual. This ultimately led to the establishment of Odacité, a skincare line that combines efficiency and purity.

Here’s the thing with mists--sometimes it just feels like you’re spraying glorified water on your face. If I’m going to pay for water in a bottle, it had better be fortified with some powerful ingredients. Odacité’s Rose + Neroli Hydra-Vitalizing Treatment Mist definitely, definitely feels legit. I use it first thing in the morning then reapply as needed throughout the day. Especially later on in the afternoon when my skin starts reflecting the midday slump, it just feels so refreshing. I use a spritz or two and my skin wakes up and feels hydrated again. This is the kind of product that I think would be perfect for traveling because it has so many benefits in one simple product. Plus, the scent is super subtle and it absorbs quickly.

Whenever I review a set of products from a brand, there always seems to be one that I instantly fall in love with. In this case, it’s the All Embracing Serum. Seriously, I can’t remember what life was like before it. First of all, the consistency is great. It feels super light and spreads easily so you don’t need to use a lot to get full coverage. A drop or two goes a long way, which is awesome because you’re going to want to get the most use out of this serum as possible. Another highlight of Odacité’s All Embracing Serum is how long lasting it’s hydrating effects are. After using it once in the morning, my skin looks and feels incredibly soft and supple all day.

Gua Sha is a traditional Chinese medicine technique which massages the muscles to facilitate blood flow, direct energy, and combat inflammation. Don’t worry if you’re unfamiliar with Gua Sha, Odacité provides a helpful guide on how to use the Crystal Contour tool in their packaging! This is not a product I’d usually find myself reaching for, but I’m really happy I got to try it. Having a solid skin care routine can be cathartic and throwing a literal at-home massage into the mix feels like a Sadé song sounds. It’s definitely luxurious. Beyond the relaxing aspect, the Crystal Contour is easy to hold, has great grip, and the shape is perfect for maneuvering around the contours of your face. I was even able to comfortably use it under my eyes, which I think really helped reduce the puffiness.

My eyes lit up when I saw Odacité’s Aventurine Kiss Lip Serum. I mean, the roller ball itself is crafted from Aventurine, which represents prosperity, abundance, and opportunity and just happens to be my favorite crystal. The formula looks so super pretty upon application. There’s a subtle shine that almost gives off a lip gloss effect without feeling heavy on the lips. My lips definitely looked plumper and healthier immediately. Unfortunately, the effects were short lived. I felt like my lips were drying out every couple hours so I just kept applying through the day.
