Baublebar is Hiring a Freelance Part-Time Photographer (NYC)

We are seeking a talented and creative Photographer to assist our dynamic team at BaubleBar. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and collaborative environment, working closely with the rest of the creative team, including photographers, the studio coordinator, and retouching staff, while reporting to the VP of Creative. The primary responsibility of the Photographer is to capture product and on-figure photography for BaubleBar e-commerce and wholesale partner websites. You will work in a high-volume e-commerce photo studio setting that supports our rapidly growing company and its needs, with a strong emphasis on product photography that showcases our accessories in the best light.

Work onsite 2-3 days per week at our Manhattan Studio in the Flatiron area.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Photography, Visual Arts, or a related field

  • 2-3 years of proven experience in product and lifestyle photography, preferably in a high-volume, deadline-driven e-commerce environment in the fashion industry. Jewelry experience is a plus

  • Proficiency in Capture One and Adobe Photoshop

  • Experience with Profoto and Canon photo and lighting equipment

  • Experience shooting organic content (photography and videos) with iPhone is a big plus

  • Basic knowledge of Google and Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Slides, Sheets)

  • Excellent understanding of lighting techniques, composition, and color correction

  • Basic understanding of photo retouching process

  • Knowledge of shooting video on DSLR

  • Video editing and color correction knowledge is a plus

  • Ability to work quickly without sacrificing overall image quality

  • Adaptability to learn new tools and processes

  • Keen eye for detail and quality control

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Strong communication skills – both written and verbal

  • Must be organized, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

  • Must be able to troubleshoot and be solution-oriented

  • Strong portfolio showcasing relevant expertise required

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Photograph product for ecommerce and editorial on-figure and still-life

  • Light reflective and complex surfaces effectively

  • Style jewelry as per the company style guide

  • Process files, including organizing, naming, cropping, sizing, and color correcting

  • Ensure all products are photographed on time

  • Work with the Studio Coordinator to maintain organized products in the photo studio

  • Assist in the production of still life, on-model, and editorial shoots

  • Maintain and manage photography equipment, ensuring all gear is in excellent working condition
