Come As You Are: Collina Strada SS20
Designer Hillary Taymour uses Collina Strada as a platform for social issues and awareness. Through the seasons she has taken grassroots approach to vocalizing cultural woes to sit alongside the collections. That’s not an easy feat, but she does it very well with emotion, mindfulness and of course her design aesthetics and sustainability. Taymour has become a true expert in portraying a community that goes beyond fashion editors and influencers. The show took place within a block of Rutherford Place along Friends Seminary, each seated guest received a reusable produce bag, which everyone (including passerby’s) were welcome to pick from the bountiful row of fruits. It makes sense that Taymour’s show theme was Thank You Very Much for Helping Me, her personal message to friends, colleagues, guests that as part of the fashion industry it is indeed our job to clean up the mess we’ve created. Collina Strada is a fashion brand that’s distinctive by its ethical fashion and its leadership on becoming part of the solution.
