Haim's New Video 'I Know Alone' Was Filmed During the Covid-19 Pandemic
Haim released their new video “I Know Alone” from their upcoming album Women in Music Pt. III. The sister act also announced on Instagram an official album release date of June 26th just after summer solstice. This is perhaps the first if not the only music video to be shot during the U.S. quarantine.
Directed remotely by Jake Schreier who has also worked with Kanye and Chance the Rapper. Although the video location was at a neighborhood basketball court, the Haim sisters made it a point to socially distance within 6 feet apart.
The song’s title already evokes isolation emo, but the lyrics ring even truer to the world’s current state of physical, social and mental isolation.
Been a couple days since I’ve been out
Calling all my friends but they won’t pick up
Found another room in a different place
Sleeping through the day and I dream the same
I don’t wanna give too much I don’t wanna feel at all
'Cause nights turn into days
That turn to grey
Keep turning over
Some things never grow
I know alone like no one else does
