Kirsten Dunst in Woodshock
This fall the Rodarte designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy debuts their first feature film. Their initial foray into cinema was designing the ballet costumes for Black Swan. Now as film directors, the sisters' love of horror films plays an influence in the plot and whimsical eeriness in cinematography. Through the years, the Mulleavy sisters have proven that it is possible for siblings to work together and now they add best friend to the mix with its leading actress Kirsten Dunst. Her character plays "a haunted young woman spiraling in the wake of profound loss, torn between her fractured emotional state and the reality-altering effects of a potent cannabinoid drug." There's a sense of mystery, fragility and perhaps an overdose of good old melancholy.
Written and directed by Kate and Laura Mulleavy, Woodshock will be released on September 15th.
