Since it opened in 2004 on Bedford Avenue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, Catbird has been the go-to spot to buy beautiful, handcrafted personal jewelry. Years later it is still where all the cool girls in BK and beyond shop for special jewelry pieces as well as beauty and home goods.
Currently looking for a graphic design and photo editor to join the Art Department. Catbird’s in-house design team is heavily focused in art direction and photography and responsible for bringing merchandise to life through product and campaign shoots that affect all brand touch points -- social, e-commerce, packaging, print, events.
REQUIREMENTS
Has a strong interest in art direction and photography
1+ year in the graphic design or photo editor field
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
Working understanding of Adobe Bridge or CaptureOne preferred
Basic photography and retouching skills preferred. And highly motivated to learn and develop those skills.
Experience in e-commerce and email marketing platforms a plus
Must be self-motivated, extremely organized, and detail-oriented
RESPONSIBILITIES
Be one of the first to see all new jewelry! Work closely with Merchandise team and in-house photographer to ensure all product photography is on-schedule and on-brand, ready to launch
Work with PR team team on special projects, campaign photoshoots and lookbooks
Review, retouch and upload digital photography product images for website
Heavy focus on creating web-ready images for e-commerce product listings of our beautiful jewelry
Experience retouching metals and stones are a plus!
Perform quality assurance on all images, ensuring consistency across products
Maintain and organize our extensive photo library
Address photo requests for print and external marketing
Interpret and develop Catbird’s branding through design deliverables
The role will work collaboratively to concept and design compelling marketing campaigns and associated content across multiple channels and platforms
