Clare V is Hiring Product Development Coordinater (Los Angeles)
After noticing a lack of functional yet stylish laptop cases while working as a journalist for French TV, Clare Vivier decided to create her own line of handbags and accessories. Clare’s strong connection to France, where she spends a significant amount of time each year with her French husband and son, remains at the core of the brand, with signature elements visible within every collection.
The primary responsibility of the Product Development Coordinator is to work with the Design Team on all seasonal and exclusive products, and to communicate with all development and production departments by facilitating proper seasonal handoff.
REQUIREMENTS

ability to work with a strong sense of accuracy and urgency
minimum of 3+ years industry experience in Product Development or Production (ideally with domestic handbags and leather goods manufacturing)
familiarity with handbag and accessories design, construction, tech packs, BOM’s, cost sheet creation and PLM systems
experience with Adobe Illustrator and creating technical sketches
RESPONSIBILITIES
Follows PD/Design calendar and directly supports PD Senior Manager, ensuring that the entire creative team adheres to calendar cut off dates, proper delivery of new developments, and timely receipt of protos and market samples.
Participates in seasonal design meeting to discuss possible development issues and opportunities
Manages sample organization of all materials including leathers, linings, and hardware.
Manages creation and maintenance of master charts for materials and labor costs.
Manages sampling process for both mainline and exclusive product from start to finish. This includes writing sample requests, managing tech pack flow, pulling materials, and reviewing samples with factories, etc.
Responsible for initial SKU creation and building BOM's for seasonal and special project sampling.
Manages artwork files and color standards from the art department in PLM system.
Follows up with factories to ensure quality of product and sample allocation for future production.
Ensures all samples are photographed/archived and prepared for look book photoshoot prior to the start of market.
Works closely with factories to calculate average yields for each new style/material. This includes requesting patterning reports and adding the yield to the BOM. Suggests alternative cutting or placement techniques to improve material yields and consumption.
Requests initial labor costs from factories and finalizes costing for seasonal/core collections. Works with pre-production coordinator to audits all BOM/cost sheets to ensure accuracy before BOM handoff meeting.
Organizes all sample request invoices for Senior Manager of PD to validate and approve.
Assist in reviewing development samples, notating any necessary changes in costing and specifications.
