Kith Is Hiring Graphic Designer - Special Projects (NYC)
Established in 2011, Kith operates on two planes - a multifunctional lifestyle brand for men, women, and kids, as well as a progressive retail establishment. Our seven brick-and-mortar flagship stores were designed in partnership with Snarkitecture, as we push the boundaries to deliver customers a completely unique experience. We offer an array of premium products, ranging from our own in-house label to a curated selection of multi-brand apparel and footwear. In 2015, Kith Treats was conceived from a childhood love for cereal and dreams of one day opening up a cereal bar - now operating in eight locations, Treats has become a staple within Kith.
KITH is currently seeking a Graphic Designer to join the Graphics team full time. This person will be working on the Special Projects team. The ideal candidate will have strong creative skills and a portfolio of work which demonstrates their passion for illustrative design and typography. This candidate will have experiences in working with numerous different design platforms such as digital and print forms.
*You must be willing to commute into the office 5 days a week to be considered for this role.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or related field
5+ years of experience in graphic design
Experience designing graphics and application of graphics to apparel
Strong ability to create original graphics, wordmarks, and logos that consistently fit within the brand's aesthetic
Experience working on collaborative / licensed projects
Experience in graphic, color, print pattern, and trim design
Experience with embellishment, printing, and finishing techniques
Understanding of tee development with the ability to techpack/launch approved designs with a factory using a PLM software
Strong background with graphic design in creating and manipulating art
Experience and knowledge of product development process / calendar / timelines
Ability to critically think/problem solve in order to achieve higher product standards
Strong organizational skills, to keep track of a variety of ongoing projects in a fast pace environment
Excellent interpersonal communication skills
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design graphic apparel collection for collaborative/licenses projects
Design graphics that adhere to our partner's brand compliance
Ideate, create mood boards, pull references for collaborative/licensed projects
Partner with team members, merchandising teams, development teams, and domestic/overseas factories to achieve high quality product.
Pitch ideas / concepts for assigned projects to CEO in team design meetings.
Work with tight timelines without compromising quality of deliverables.
Manage multiple collections from concept to factory development.
Complete approvals on color, fabric, trim, art, branding, and finishing
