Opening Ceremony is Hiring Special Projects & Events Manager (NYC)
Opening Ceremony was founded in 2002 by two friends from UC Berkeley, Carol Lim and Humberto Leon, as a place to share their passions for travel, art, and fashion. Inspired by a trip to Hong Kong, the two decided to leave their jobs in corporate fashion to realize their unique dream. What began as a single store on a quiet street in downtown New York is now a global community with outposts in New York and Los Angeles, a department store in Tokyo, a wholesale showroom, an in-house clothing line, a blog, and an e-commerce site.
Currently looking for a full-time Special Projects and Events Manager. This person will be a key voice in developing and executing Opening Ceremony's special projects and event strategy.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree
3+ experience in public relations & events at a major fashion brand, PR agency or events company
Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Office for creation of relevant artwork and reporting
Extensive network in NYC with agencies, production houses, vendors etc specific to the execution of events
Organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills are a must
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Creative thinker and pro-active executor
Must work well independently and in a team environment, and in a fast-paced organization
Travelling as needed
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage influencer relationships and oversee seeding
Manage retail and off-site events: calendar, budgets, execution (in-store and off-site)
Provide activity reports (pre-event proposals and post-event recaps)
Maintenance of in-house marketing contact database and calendar events (celebrity, social, holiday, etc.)
Compile calendar of events and relevant opportunities across all markets (local charity, notable events, etc.)
Develop relationships in line with the Opening Ceremony brand (including influencer, sponsorship, etc.)
Liaise with various departments to ensure all marketing initiatives are on-brand and executed to brand standards
Oversee relationship with PR firm, Black Frame (liaison between brand and PR)
Propose strategic partnerships for local markets, aimed at elevating and expanding brand awareness and new client recruitment
Assists in developing and executing special projects and collaborations
