Oak + Fort is Hiring Accessories Designer (Vancouver B.C.)

Since its inception in 2010, OAK+FORT has curated collections reflecting the brand’s belief that fashion should be uncomplicated and thoughtfully designed. They’re are not distracted or fettered by trends. They will continue to provide attainable luxury to like-minded individuals.

The Accessories Designer would be responsible for the full design cycle of all categories of accessories, from trend research to concept development to approval of production. The Accessories Designer will work closely with the team to execute the direction and production development of all accessories including jewellery, shoes, bags, scarves, hats and trend driven categories.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Background in Accessories design

  • A keen eye for trends that aligning with Oak + Fort aesthetic

  • 2+ years of experience in fashion design

  • Degree or diploma in fashion design

  • Experience working at a start up is an asset

  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Experience in developing overseas production

  • Excellent time management and project planning abilities

  • Effective communication skills; written, verbal in addition to listening skills

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and develop all categories of accessories from concept to approval

  • Work closely with the Sr. Designer to design and create a collection that aligns to the OAK + FORT aesthetic

  • Present and communicate what the vision, strategy and plans are for each season with design development team

  • Conduct market research and provide direction in material, style, fit and function

  • Help create concept, inspiration boards, and seasonal colour palettes

  • Contribute to seasonal trend and concept brainstorms

  • Conceptualize and research seasonal ideas, looking to runway, editorial, trend etc. to create elevated designs that continue to move the brand forward

  • Meet design timelines for development and production

  • Manage timelines and prioritize workload

  • Create partnerships with cross-functional partners to ensure the collection is delivered on time and design direction is clear
