Working Girl
The 80’s doesn’t have to be back in style in order to appreciate a working woman’s power dressing. Looking back to iconic film screen heroine Tess McGill (Melanie Griffith) from Working Girl, whose only goal in life was to make it out of Staten Island and succeed in the big city. Wardrobe was especially important during the 1980's. The power labels back then were Gucci, Chanel, Fendi and Oscar de la Renta and then there was the Madison Avenue hits with Anne Klein, Liz Claiborne, Oleg Cassini and Halston as the standards. If we were to recreate Tess McGill's wardrobe of the late 80's to fit into our workwear today, the irony is that the 80's office sneakers trend continues to be part of the style equation.
